Day 1: Arrival & Check-in
Arrive in Malé and meet the Maldives Explorer crew.
Board the yacht and settle into your chosen cabin.
Welcome briefing and introduction to the Best of Central Route.

Dive 1: Fish Tank, exploring diverse moray eels and rays.
Dive Highlights: Some of the highlights within this route are the famous dive sites such Fish tank where you can see almost all types of moray eels, giant, leopard, yellow head, sooty head, reticulated moray eels, to name but a few. Also stingrays, black-spotted rays and mangrove rays.
Day 2: North Male’ Atoll
Dive Highlights: Lankan, a renowned cleaning station in the Maldives, provides scuba divers with a captivating spectacle as mantas engage in cleaning behavior. This manta show is a highlight of Maldives trips, offering a magical and immersive experience. One of the most colorful dive sites on North Male Atoll. On the south side of Girifushi Island, this site has abundant fish life and very nice soft corals. There are numerous blue soft corals and a swim through. The current can be strong!!
Easy to find schools of jack and trevally, rainbow runners, barracuda, and tunas. Sometimes eagle rays and grey reef sharks are around as well.
Day 3 to 6: Baa Atoll
Dive Highlights: Maavaru Thila, a captivating dive site, boasts two distinct pinnacles, offering a dynamic underwater journey. With a deeper thila for the dive’s start and a shallower one for the conclusion, divers are immersed in a world of underwater splendor.
Dive Highlights: Diving at Dhonfanu Thila promises not only an adventure through its changing currents and underwater formations but also an opportunity to witness the vibrant marine life that thrives in this dynamic underwater environment.
Diving Highlights: Dhigu Faru Thila beckons experienced divers to explore its compact dimensions of 80m in length and 70m in width situated in the heart of a channel notorious for strong currents. This dive site, due to its challenging currents, is recommended exclusively for experienced divers or those eager to learn under the guidance of a skilled instructor.
The Hanifaru Bay
Hanifaru Bay is globally acclaimed for its spectacular manta ray feeding and breeding activities. Witnessing these majestic creatures in action is a once-in-a-lifetime experience during the specified months.In addition to mantas, whale sharks, the largest fish in the ocean, grace the waters of Hanifaru Bay from May to November. This period marks a unique opportunity to encounter these gentle giants.
Important Note: Hanifaru Bay is exclusively a snorkeling site; scuba diving is not permitted.
Day 7: Return to Male’ and Departure
Last Swim at the beach before departure.
Return to Malé and disembark from The Maldives Explorer.
Farewell and transfer to Malé International Airport for departure.
Note: Itinerary may be adjusted based on weather conditions, guest preferences, and other factors to ensure the best diving experience. Non-diving activities and island visits can be incorporated as desired.
